Good, Bad and Ugly kits from the past – Oxford United

Good – home shirt 1985/86
In the picture above, David Langan and Ray Houghton lift the 1986 Milk Cup in their most iconic home shirt of all-time. Incidentally, our Honorary Patron Keith Hackett refereed the Final!
The shirt was a nice plain yellow with a blue V-neck collar and cuffs manufactured by Umbro. The sponsors name across the shirt got a few sniggers from opposing fans as well. As is often the way, a team performs the best in embarrassing shirts!

Bad – home shirt 1993/94
This along with the away shirt from the same season feature in the ‘Bad’ and ‘Ugly’ section.
Matchwinner manufactured and designed this shirt and it’s the awful yellow design on the blue sleeves that make it look so bad.

Ugly – away shirt 1993/94
As promised, the away shirt from above! The Matchwinner design was used by several other clubs at this time.
The design is made up of red and black vertical stripes with white and grey fading in and out. In my opinion, it’s the ugliest shirt that Oxford United have worn.
