Good, Bad and Ugly kits from the past – Lincoln City

City players celebrate the late winner against Burnley at Turf Moor in 2017

Good – away shirt 2016/17
The 2016/17 season was an historic one for Lincoln City. They captivated the nation with some great football under the management of two brothers, Danny and Nicky Cowley and reached the FA Cup Quarter Final and won the National League title.
City beat two Championship teams and Premiership Burnley before losing 5-0 to Arsenal in the Quarter Finals. This green away shirt was worn several times on the run and will be forever remembered for the good times on this famous cup run and league win.

Bad – home shirt 2011/12
In doing this article, I have noticed that every once in a while, a team suddenly comes up with a wild design that goes completely against what the club has worn for years.
This shirt from the 2011/12 season is Lincoln City’s wild shirt. Apart from one season (2000/01) when The Imps wore a red and white quartered shirt, they had always worn thick red and white vertical- striped shirts.
This design was only around for the one season and the design has fortunately never re-surfaced at Sincil Bank!

Ugly – away shirt 1993/94
For those who can remember, shirts in the 90’s were often gawdy affairs, with bright colours and patterns splashed all over.
This way shirt from the 1993/94 certainly fits that mould, with a dark grey, turquoise and white making up the shirts design.
