Good, Bad and Ugly kits from the past – Leyton Orient

2015/16 home shirt

Good – home shirt 2015/16
This wonderfully simple and basic design was one of Orient’s trendiest shirts in their history.
A red shirt with white collar and cuffs with the manufacturer Nike’s symbol and sponsor Rainham Steel’s name in white.

Bad – home shirt – 1998/99
A red and white chequered shirt? “Of course, great idea!” was probably not the response that many Leyton Orient fans said when they found out about their new shirt in 1998. Sadly for the O’s fans who hated the chequered design, it made a return for one season for the 2001/02 campaign.

Ugly – home shirt 1904/05
This was Leyton Orient’s home shirt back in the 1904/05 season according to the great website http://www.historicalkits.co.uk and it looks terrible!
Vertical green, red and white stripes. Luckily there are no colour photos from the time (that I could find!) so we only have this picture to go on.
