Good, Bad and ugly kits from the past – West Ham United

Good – home shirt 1999- 2001
This shirt was worn in the era when West Ham won a European competition. It was only the Intertoto Cup but it was still a European trophy!
It was the first shirt that Fila designed and manufactured. They only produced one more shirt before Reebok took over. It was a nice, simple design with a blue and white stripe down the sleeve.

Bad – home shirt 1987 – 89
In all honesty, West Ham haven’t ever had any really badly-designed shirts. This one was one of my least favourites and was worn in two seasons, the last season 1988/89 the club were relegated from the First to the Second Division.

Ugly – home shirt 1995 – 97
I remember when this shirt came out and it wasn’t liked at the time. The massive over-sized collar ruins the design and looked awful.
The away shirt was the same design but with the colours reversed and two horizontal claret stripes around the chest.
