Good, Bad and Ugly kits from the past – Reading

Good – home shirt 1871 – 72
This was the firs ever shirt worn by Reading. It is very unlikely that the Berkshire club will wear such narrow and thin hoops. Even the socks have got the thin hoops on. A very Victorian shirt!

Bad – away shirt 2019/20
This shirt designed by Macron is terrible!
A couple of shades of grey with a reddish-pink collar and cuffs is reasonable enough but the various images of a crown across the lighter grey hoops are atrocious!

Ugly – away shirt 1991/92
The white chevrons across a red shirt are much worse (in my opinion!) than the current away shirt.
The blue lettering for the sponsors label on the shirt is barely readable so on a practical level, that makes it a far worse design than most other shirts.
The manufacturers of the shirt was Matchwinner, who notoriously made horribly designed shirts at the time!
