The programme from Fulham’s 10-1 victory over Leicester City

An incredible 66 goals were scored in ten First Division matches on this day back in 1963. Eleven of those goals came from Craven Cottage, where home side Fulham beat Leicester City 10-1!

Ten goals were scored in the match between West Ham and Blackburn Rovers at Upton Park. The visitors won the match 8-2, with Andy McEvoy and Fred Pickering both scoring hat-tricks for the visitors.

Eight goals were shared at The Hawthorns as West Brom drew 4-4 with Tottenham Hotspur. Burnley beat Manchester United 6-1 and Liverpool beat Stoke City by the same scoreline.
Blackpool were beaten 5-1 at home by Chelsea, and six goals were also scored in matches at the City Ground and Molineux. The matches between Nottingham Forest and Sheffield United and Wolves and Aston Villa both ended 3-3.

The two lowest-scoring matches were played at Hillsborough and Filbert Street. They were the only grounds where there were teams who failed to find the back of the net. Bolton Wanderers lost 3-0 to Sheffield Wednesday and Everton lost 2-0 at Leicester City.
