A blog about all things football

Who’s next for the Arsenal hot-seat?

Massimiliano Allegri
The Italian is very much the fans-favourite for the job according to social media. He left Juventus at the end of last season having won five Serie A titles in a row, four of those league and cup doubles. Allegri is undoubtedly the biggest name to be linked with the vacancy.

Mauricio Pochettino
There have been a lot of rumours of the former Spurs manager coming to Arsenal.  He was fired from his job at White Hart Lane last week and must be itching to get back in management and prove the Spurs hierarchy that they made the wrong decision.  Doing well for Arsenal would be a double blow for their North London rivals!
Incidentally, Arsenal have hired a former Tottenham manager before, Terry Neill moved down the Seven Sisters Road in 1976 and took Arsenal to three consecutive FA Cup Finals and a European Final.

Nuno Espirito Santos
The Wolves manager has been discussed in the media as a potential successor to Unai Emery and has worked wonders at Molineux.  Promoted from the Champiuonship and qualified for Europe last season, currently fifth in the table and have qualified from their group in the Europa League.

Rafael Benitez
Currently plying his trade in the Chinese Super League at Daliian Yitang, Benitez has proven Premier League experience at Liverpool, Newcastle United and Chelsea.  Whether he will want to leave China where he will no doubt be on a huge salary waits to be seen.  He will surely have to take a pay-cut to come back to England if he were to take the managerial job at the Emirates.

Eddie Howe
Howe has worked wonders at Bournemouth, not only guiding them up to the Premiership but the south coast club have more than held their own in the top-flight.
Taking the Arsenal job would be a huge step up for the Bornemouth man but he would relish the challenge.

Brendan Rodgers
The man currently in charge at Leicester City who so nearly guided Liverpool to the Premier League title in 2014.
After leaving Anfield, Rodgers moved north of the border and took charge of Celtic before taking over at Leicester in February this year.
Since taking over at Leicester City, Rodgers has revitalised the club and they are currently in second position and exceeding all expectation in the Premier Division.

George Graham
Whenever there is an article listing potential new managers, there is always one name that seems to be used to fill up space. I thought I’d do the same by mentioning former Arsenal manager George Graham!
Graham hasn’t been in charge of a club since 2001 but could surely fix the defensive frailties at Arsenal!
